12th Place at TEKNOFEST 2026 Fighter UAV
Selected as one of 42 finalist teams from 1,032 applicants, our team competed in the TEKNOFEST 2026 Fighter UAV finals at Siirt Airport. We completed all missions and finished 12th overall.

Our results in autonomous flight, target detection and target-tracking missions in national and international arenas.
Competing at the 4th TEKNOFEST in 2021, our team won first place in the fixed-wing category of the Fighter UAV Competition — a contest that had gone three years without a winner and is regarded as one of the most challenging of its kind in the world, since it involves the combat technologies of the future such as autonomous take-off, flight and landing and target lock-on.

Our team finished 5th overall at the UAS Challenge 2026, organised in the United Kingdom by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

At the TEKNOFEST 2025 Fighter UAV Competition our team received the Best Artificial Intelligence Application Award for its original AI-based tracking system, and finished the competition in 5th place.

Leaving behind teams from institutions such as Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford, Cornell, UCLA, Penn State and Virginia Tech, Team Lagari finished 1st in the fixed-wing category and 3rd overall among 75 teams in flight missions that included autonomous take-off and landing, target strike and object recognition.

Our team finished 5th in the mission ranking and 8th overall among 69 teams. Striking the target in autonomous flight from an altitude of 40 metres and landing within 1 metre of it, the team achieved the best target drop in the competition's 16-year history.

Our team ranked 4th in the Technical Design Paper and 29th overall among 59 teams.
